Now I realize why there is no USB port on the Ipad. To prevent from being sued by the stupid DMCA laws. DMCA should have NEVER existed in the first place.

Instead of people pointing the finger at Apple and putting a negative spin on the Ipad, put the blame where it really belongs. And that’s on the government and big name corporations that control the government.

The fact that the article also mentions Apple’s assertion that an application which allows access to the DCIM may point to DMCA issues but is also typical of Apple’s controlling behavior with regards to their devices. So if that control is as a result of Apple’s interpretation of compliance with DMCA laws, then your point is certainly accurate. It seems possible that Apple has other reasons for locking down their devices, however. Whether this is good or bad is a popular subject for debate amongst the tech community.

One byproduct of Apple’s control over their hardware is that Apple products just work. This is in contrast to products which run Microsoft’s OS offerings as well as Linux. I’m a big fan of Linux, to be sure. But with freedom certainly comes responsibility.
